Glen The Balloon Guy Theme Song on BFM 89.9 Radio
Branding experience I wanted to share -
I was recently interviewed by BFM 89.9 Radio out of Malaysia for their 'Careers Unusual' segment. I really enjoyed the interview; they have many interesting podcast interviews worth listening to. What made this interview very special was they featured my very own Glen The Balloon Guy theme song, which was created for me as a gift by the very talented Tom Thomson and Allan Hobden from Kaslo BC. Fiverr.com Helps Gets You Past Creative Roadblocks
I regularly use an internet services site, Fiverr.com, where for a very modest fee (starting at $5 USD and up) you can tap into a broad pool of talented people to help you with your marketing, promotions, branding, website and many other services. I have used Fiverr.com to help me come up with new branding, taglines and background artwork. Plus there are so many different skills and talents being offered on the site, you can get help on a huge range of topics. Sometimes whe

What To Do When Waiting For My Flight?
I make balloon animals, of course!
I like to take my balloons with me when I am out and about, so I can do some impromptu entertaining. While returning home from my last balloon convention, I had a couple of hours of wait time, so rather than get bored (and when I get bored I tend to get into trouble), I made some balloon figures for the airline attendants. When I am actively problem solving, I consider the problem from different perspectives. I typically begin my problem solving by starting with the end in mind. I visualize the end result of what I want to accomplish, and then over a number of hours, days,

Sometimes You Just Gotta Do It
While vacationing with the family in Florida this year, we visited Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. I tried to talk my wife and daughter into joining me on the Expedition Everest roller coaster ride. Turns out they were the clever ones – it was way more intense than I remembered from 10 years ago. But it was on my to-do list for the trip so I made myself go; sometimes you have to force yourself past the fear and just do it.

Having Fun At Festivals
When I go to a local music festival in the summer I really like to hide out in the beer tent and make big fancy balloons for the festival staff as promotional / marketing work. I do this because: 1) I get to practise big pieces I normally don’t have time to do, 2) I promote my work and it gets lots of exposure in a busy venue (I hand out lots of business cards), 3) it makes the recipient very happy, and 4) not only does it highly amuse me, I feel great bringing happiness to
